The Police, The Smashing Pumpkins and The Beastie Boys have been officially confirmed for the V Festival in the US.
The event is only the second in the festival's history and will take place in Baltimore between August 4 and 5.
Chief organiser of the US Virgin Fest, Seth Hurwitz, told Billboard how the focus had been solely on the big acts: "We only have 12 slots a day on two big stages, and our concept is to fill our slots with the absolute best talent available.
"We don't book any 'favour' spots."
