Edwards is said to be suffering from a "recurring tonsil problem", and will not be joining Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall.

Little Mix will continue to make their scheduled appearances without Edwards, including a gig at London's O2 on Saturday (December 8).

Her spokesman stated: "Perrie is very disappointed to miss out.

"However, Leigh-Anne, Jade and Jesy do not want to let down the fans coming to see them so will perform at the upcoming shows, including Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball at the O2 this Saturday, without her until she is well enough to return."

Little Mix recently said that they hope to become the biggest girl group in the world.
