Concert organisers announced the 'Start Me Up' band's involvement on Friday (December 7), two weeks after they had openly campaigned for the Rolling Stones to join the bill.
Mick Jagger and his band are in the East Coast of the US ahead of a concert in Brooklyn, NY on Saturday (December 8) and two shows in Newark, NJ on Thursday, December 13 and Saturday, December 15
The Concert for Sandy Relief will feature an all-star group of performers, including Sir Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi and The Who.
Coldplay, Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder are also on the bill.
All proceeds from the Concert for Sandy Relief benefit the Robin Hood Foundation, which previously organised a benefit following the 9/11 terror attacks.
The Concert for Sandy Relief is being held on Wednesday, December 12 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
AMC, CBS, HBO, Showtime, VH1 Classic, Encore, EPIX, IFC and the Sundance Channel will air the show on television in the US, while a simulcast will also stream on AOL, Hulu, YouTube, Vevo, Yahoo and iHeartRadio.
