Dame Shirley Bassey has been officially confirmed for this year's Glastonbury festival.

Organiser Michael Eavis went on record yesterday to say that the 70-year-old performer would play on the Sunday.

Along with Bassey, pop singer Damien Rice and band The Waterboys were also confirmed for the acoustic stage at the event.

Almost 400,000 music fans have currently registered for a chance to buy tickets for the legendary festival.

The tickets, of which there are 150,000, will go on sale this coming Sunday (April 1).
