The singer explained that he is thinking of switching up the sound completely to give fans an insight into the different genres of music he listens to.
"I'm toying with the idea of changing the sound entirely. For my own personal diversity," Cruz told BBC Newsbeat.
"Also for the fans to know a little bit more about me and a little bit more about the styles of music I enjoy. It's definitely going to be catchy, but I don't want to give too much away."
However, the star admitted that he has to work with other artists before he can concentrate on his own material.
"I was working on some Ke$ha bits, I've been asked to do some stuff for One Direction, as well," he said. "I'm going to hopefully get in the studio with Owl City soon.
"When I get back in, hopefully in January, we'll be doing all the sessions with all of these people."
Cruz's third studio album TY.O was released across Europe last December, and will finally be available in the UK and US from December 31, 2012.
