Bieber will release the acoustic album in January, and it is expected to include a number of stripped-down versions of tracks from his Believe album.

The singer announced the project earlier this month following recent guitar-led performances, tweeting: "Been writing alot...new stuff...and yeah. the acoustic album, new arrangements, is happening... #withdankanter."

He has also teased fans that they can expect surprises from him in 2013.

Bieber released an acoustic reworking of his My World album in 2010. My Worlds Acoustic charted at number seven in the US.

It has also been rumoured that British musician Ed Sheeran is working with the US star on his acoustic songs, after Bieber's manager hinted that he was in the studio with Sheeran.
