Beatles tracks to go online?

Music industry figures are speculating that Beatles tracks may at last be sold on the internet.
Record label EMI, which has so far not allowed any of the songs to go online, has announced it is holding a joint media event on Monday with Apple boss Steve Jobs. It has not released the subject of the event.
It has promised an "exciting new digital offering" in invites to the media. There will also be a "special live performance" by an unspecified act.
Earlier this year Beatles' record label Apple came to an agreement in a long-running legal battle with the computer manufacturer - and iTunes operator. This prompted expectations that the tracks would be sold through the network.
BBC News said there was increasing speculation the announcement on Monday would be about the Beatles. Otherwise, it said, it could be about the new Apple iPhone.
An EMI spokesman would not comment on the topic of the press conference.
