The 'Heaven' singer had a hugely successful year, with star performances at both the opening and closing Olympic ceremonies, and the best-selling album of the year in the UK with Our Version of Events.
Sandé also married her long-term boyfriend Adam Gouraguine in a ceremony in the US in August.
Speaking to The List, Sande said: "It's weird to think this time last year no-one knew who I was. I've since had a number one album, two number one singles and performed in front of the world at the opening and closing Olympic ceremonies."
Referring to her star-making performance at London 2012, she said: "My highlight of the year was stepping out to sing 'Abide with Me' at the Olympics opening ceremony. That was a huge moment. And the most nerve-wracking of my life, not just the year. Partly because at the dress rehearsal, in front of 16,000 people, my mic wasn't working.
"However, I felt very calm when I stepped out. You can't really see people, you can only see lights. Everybody went very quiet. It was like being underwater."
She added: "Getting married was a highlight too, of course. It was the perfect day."
Our Version of Events climbed to the top of the charts to become the Christmas number one album, and was voted best album of the year by readers of Digital Spy in the end-of-year poll.
