Emily Eavis: Adopt our tickets system
Published Tuesday, Apr 3 2007, 09:41 BST | By Dave West
Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis has called on other events to adopt the festival's ticketing system to stop touts.
Everyone going to the festival has supplied a passport photograph of themselves which will be printed on their ticket. It is thought this will stop them being sold on at higher prices almost completely.
Eavis, daughter of landowner Michael, said others should take up the idea to help real fans.
"I really hope other promoters follow the lead," she explained. "There's nothing much in it for the promoters, because a lot of people think 'Well if we sell out, it doesn't really matter if it sells to touts.'
"But we really feel quite strongly that people are being ripped off, and we want to stop that."
Tickets sold out for the event on Sunday but any left after cancellations will be up for grabs on April 22.
