The Daily Star claims that the theatre show, written by Jennifer Saunders and based on the girl group's songs, is usually only "three-quarters full".
Viva Forever! failed to impress the critics when it debuted last month, with it being described as a "disappointment" and "terrible".
There was further bad press on the launch night after Posh Spice Victoria Beckham turned up late and chose to sit away from her former bandmates.
A spokeswoman for producer Judy Craymer said: "The West End takes a dip this time of year. But the show is doing really well."
