Robyn gets US sales boost after 'Girls' Golden Globes success

Robyn has seen a boost in US sales after 'Dancing On My Own' was featured during the Golden Globe Awards.

The track was played twice at the ceremony on Sunday (January 13), which was broadcast on NBC.

It soundtracked the two wins for HBO's Girls, which received the 'Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy' award and 'Best Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy' prize for creator Lena Dunham.

The average daily sales of 'Dancing On My Own' tripled on Sunday, helping the track to sell an estimated 7,000 copies in the week ending January 13, according to Billboard.

The song was used at the end of last year's April 29 episode of Girls, boosting its sales in the following two weeks to 23,000.

The Girls soundtrack album was released last Tuesday (January 8), featuring the Robyn track alongside cuts from fun., Santigold and Grouplove.
