Julian Lennon has sold a "significant" stake of his rights to songs by his father John.
Julian sold part of the stake, inherited when the Beatle died, to US music publishing firm Primary Wave. He has not passed over full ownership of the tracks, just the right to be paid for their use.
Among the tracks involved in the deal were 'All You Need Is Love' and 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds'. Julian is himself a musician and the publisher has agreed to market his next work.
Chief executive Larry Mestel explained: "We are thrilled to be partnering with Julian Lennon and to own a piece of music history."
And Lennon commented: "I felt it was the appropriate time to take on a partner for both my interest in my father's legendary music and for my future music endeavours."
