Barat and Doherty keep gig secret

Carl Barat and Pete Doherty have revealed that they kept their reunion gig secret to prevent a media circus surrounding them.
The former Libertines teamed up last week at the Hackney Empire in London, but did not publicise the event. 'An Evening With Peter Doherty' saw the two take the stage together for the first time since the band split three years ago.
"We talked at the NME Awards and we chatted about doing something," Barat admitted. "We didn't want to mouth off and for there to be a circus around it. I missed the songs, and Peter is important to me."
