The Saturdays on new album: 'We've worked with inspirational people'

By
The Saturdays have revealed that they worked with producers who they are inspired by for their new studio album.

The girl group will release The Chase in the UK and US later this year, after signing an American record deal back in 2012.

"We've actually had two of our own headline shows out there [the United States] - one in New York and one in LA," Mollie King told BBC Newsbeat.

"We couldn't believe people were actually there. They were both sold-out shows and we had a signing in New York as well, so we are gradually building up a fanbase over there."

Rochelle Wiseman added: "We've worked with some people we are really inspired by - we worked with Dianne Warren [Celine Dion, Cher] and Rodney Jerkins of Darkchild [Beyoncé, Justin Bieber]. That was massive for us.

"It was really fun to be in the studio with these people and even to get a meeting with them is hard. When we first went there, they were like, 'It's really hard to get a meeting'.

"We were like, 'Ha ha, we've got a session now'. They were like, 'Ahh, five poor British and Irish girls - we'll let them in'. I think they felt a bit sorry for us!"

The Saturdays' new single 'What About Us' is available to download now in the US and on March 17 in the UK.
