Emeli Sandé has revealed that she's willing to work hard to become a worldwide star.

The singer is currently busy promoting her debut album Our Version of Events in America and hopes to replicate its UK success across the globe.

"I'd love to match the success all around the world and it's great because the album's started to do really well in Europe," Sandé told That Grape Juice.

"I've been doing a lot of shows and letting things happen naturally so I think everything will fall into place."

"You really can't go over there for a month or two, you know, you really have to invest a huge chunk of your life to make it happen. I think if you put out great music and you're patient and willing to put the work in, it'll work out."

Sandé has received widespread support from her US peers, including Jay-Z and, more recently, Alicia Keys.

"She's a beautiful, incredible artist with a lot to say. I think she's going to really stand the test of time," Keys said.
