Beyoncé: 'New album is sensual, empowering'

Beyoncé has teased details of her upcoming fifth studio album.

The 'Love On Top' singer told Vogue that her new material will celebrate being a wife to Jay-Z and mother to Blue Ivy.

Beyoncé performs at the Super Bowl

She said her new record, which she will release later this year and tour with the 'Mrs Carter Show', "is a lot more sensual... empowering".

"Right now, after giving birth, I really understand the power of my body," she explained. "I just feel my body means something completely different.

"I feel a lot more confident about it. Even being heavier, thinner, whatever. I feel a lot more like a woman. More feminine, more sensual. And no shame."

Beyoncé also joked that her studio "kind of feels right now like A Beautiful Mind" since it is full of "vision boards" providing inspiration for her creative process.

"There's so much stuff up there," she added.

Beyoncé's last studio album 4 was released in 2011 and featured hit singles 'Run the World (Girls)' and 'Best Thing I Never Had'.
