Spears misses gig but still plans return

Britney Spears has missed a planned comeback gig but will return to performing soon, it has been reported.

The star has been busy working out and rehearsing since emerging from a spell in a rehab clinic last month.

According to website E! Online she cancelled a low-profile show at Los Angeles club Forty Deuce but is still rehearsing ahead of unpublicised dates planned for coming weeks.

Ivan Kane, who owns the club, confirmed she "came on stage during rehearsal, looking very hot, with four dancers and sang three songs".

He added: "They ran through the set several times, the choreography was smokin' and she sounded great."
