Boyzone tour tickets demand 'outstrips One Direction and The Wanted'

By
The demand for Boyzone's latest tour has outstripped that of both One Direction and The Wanted combined, new figures have suggested.

In the past week, demand for tickets has increased by over 300% - a surge which means that more fans sought to watch the Irish fourpiece than current boyband phenomena One Direction and The Wanted, according to ticket marketplace Seatwave.

Boyzone are playing a 15-date arena tour this year, starting at Belfast's Odyssey Arena on November 29 and ending on December 22 in Manchester.

A spokesperson for Seatwave said: "We expected Boyzone to generate some interest, purely from a nostalgia point of view; however the volume we have encountered has been quite unprecedented.

The Wanted

"To outstrip demand for both 1D and The Wanted is extraordinary, they are two of the most popular bands in the country right now.

"One explanation could be that older fans who like 1D, but perhaps find them a bit young, see Boyzone as an appealing alternative."
