One Direction release 'One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks)' for Comic Relief

The video, filmed by the band while they were on tour, includes scenes on the road in New York, Japan and London, and shows them visiting African projects supported by money raised through Red Nose Day.

Also airing during Let's Dance for Comic Relief is the first of a series of emotional films made during One Direction's time in Africa, following Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson on a visit to a hospital where they meet babies who are desperately sick with diseases that could have been prevented by a simple vaccine.

One Direction's single, a mash-up of hits by Blondie and The Undertones, will be available to download from iTunes from Sunday, February 17, with the physical CD available to buy from Sainsbury's from Monday, February 18. The song was officially premiered yesterday.

A low-quality version of the track appeared online earlier this month, causing Simon Cowell's Syco record label to launch an investigation into the leak.

The full music video will be available on Vevo from Thursday, February 21, the day after the band perform it for the first time at the Brit Awards.

One Direction are not receiving payment in connection with the song, and Syco will donate 100% of its profits from the sale of each CD single and download to Comic Relief.
