Members of their support act, My Chemical Romance, along with members of both bands' crews were struck down with the illness after a gig in Virginia on Sunday.
According to the BBC, they were "violently ill" and a number were subsequently admitted to hospital.
Muse cancelled two concerts, one in Columbus, Ohio and one in Pennsylvania.
The band reportedly hopes to resume the tour "as soon as possible".
