Jessie Ware on success: 'It feels too good to be true'

By
Jessie Ware has said that her success over the past year feels too good to be true.

The singer was talking ahead of last night's (February 20) Brit Awards, where she missed out on the 'British Breakthrough' award to Ben Howard.

"This time last year I was putting out my first single, which was 'Running', and really just establishing myself as a solo artist, stepping away from dance vocals.

"A year on I'm up for two Brits and I've had my album out - I was up for the Mercurys. It feels all too good to be true, really."

She added: "I think it's so important to look after the next generation. It can never not help to have people on your side when you're feeling quite nervous about being an emerging artist."
