The Beastie Boys have announced some details about their new studio album.
The Mix Up has no official release date yet, but it will contain fourteen songs, with the track listing below.
The group has said the sound of the record would be all original, without the use of any samples, and would explore a different musical direction to previous LPs.
"If you know us, and you know our different albums, the influences will make sense," vocalist Mike D told XFM. "But it's a lot different from our last album, because we play all instruments on the whole album, it’s not sampled. It might seem kinda out there if you're not that up on what we're doing and have just casually checked out a little bit of this and this, but if you've followed our albums you're gonna be well prepared."
The track listing for the new record is as follows:
'B for My Name'
'14th St. Break'
'Suco de Tangerina'
'The Gala Event'
'Electric Worm'
'Freaky Hijiki'
'Off the Grid'
'The Rat Cage'
'The Melee'
'Dramastically Different'
'The Cousin of Death'
'The Kangaroo Rat'
