Kelly Rowland: 'Destiny's Child Super Bowl criticism doesn't matter'

Kelly Rowland has laughed off criticism of Destiny's Child's performance at the Super Bowl.

Michelle Williams and Rowland joined Beyoncé during her half-time set at the Superdome in New Orleans on February 3, but reports later emerged claiming that Williams and Rowland's microphones were turned down.



Singer Keyshia Cole was one of Destiny's Child's most vocal critics, tweeting after the Super Bowl: "I think I was frightened to blink for a sec. Then Michelle sung and woke my ass up from my daze! She always f**ks the groove up."

Reflecting on the Super Bowl with Rolling Stone, Rowland brushed aside criticism of Williams's performance.

"It didn't even make it on my radar until other people brought it up. It didn't even matter," Rowland declared.



She went on to say: "We had a wonderful performance, and that's all I cared about. I was with my sisters and the three of us matter to each other, and that's all that counts.

"We matter to a lot more people, with all due respect, than [Cole]. So, I really don't care what she said."

Williams previously described the Destiny's Child reunion as a "beautiful" moment, in addition to expressing hopes for a future reformation.
