Amelia Lily has confirmed that she is still working on her debut album.

The singer's first studio collection Be a Fighter was supposed to be released later this month, but pre-orders were cancelled, prompting speculation the record had been canned.

However, Lily has now clarified that she has delayed the release of her new album to work on new material for it.

"Guys I wanted to let you know what's happening… over the last few months I've been writing loads of new material and I've now decided that I need to go back into the studio and spend some time working on my debut album," Lily tweeted.

"I want it to be perfect for you all! I will update you all on my progress, stay tuned. I'm excited!!!!!"

Lily's latest single 'Party Over' peaked at number 40 in the UK back in April.

The star had previously reached number 11 with 'Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got)' and two with her debut track 'You Bring Me Joy'.

Lily signed to Sony imprint Xenomania following her time on The X Factor, where she finished in third place behind Marcus Collins and Little Mix.
