Steven Tyler has revealed how he got the inspiration to write hit record 'Walk This Way'.

The Aerosmith frontman explained that the song was written as they were waiting for a delivery of drugs.

Tyler told NME: "We were all waiting for a load of blow to come. [Guitarist] Joe Perry was on stage and I ran up on stage and starting jamming with him. Who knew that from jamming with Joe, it would become so big and do what it did?"

Aerosmith produced the song in 1975 before recording it in 1986 with Run-D.M.C. as a rap/rock crossover.

The former American Idol judge also estimated that he's spent at least $6 million on drugs.

Tyler recently spoke about his time on Idol, saying he doesn't regret his decision to leave and focus on Aerosmith.

He said: "I always wanted to see what the other mountains looked like… TV is a whole other animal, and it was good. I miss JLo [Jennifer Lopez] a lot and Randy [Jackson] on and off."
