MGMT suggest David Guetta approached them about collaboration

By
MGMT have suggested that David Guetta approached them about a collaboration.

The duo told Digital Spy that they don't listen to the pop charts as much as they used to, but may have received a request from the 'Titanium' hitmaker.

"The production a lot of the time is really cool and impressive," Ben Goldwasser said of current chart music. "But it's hard for me to identify with a lot of the lyrics. So much of it seems to be about completely forgetting any sort of responsibility and having fun.

"It's nice that people have that music to turn off the world to, but it doesn't have the kind of staying power that I crave."

Andrew VanWyngarden added: "What's that huge song - I don't actually like it cos I get so furious when it gets stuck in my head - 'I am titanium' [by David Guetta] It drills into your brain!"

Speaking about collaborations, VanWyngarden told DS: "I think [Guetta] actually has maybe approached us."

In the interview coming soon, MGMT also speak about the making of their self-titled new album and if they'd ever return to the sound of their debut record.

MGMT is released on September 17. Watch their video for new track 'Your Life Is A Lie' below:
