Little Mix will cover Cameo's 'Word Up' for Sport Relief

They tweeted: "We are really excited to announce this years official @SportRelief Single is called 'Word Up' sung by….. US!! xxLittle Mix xxx #SR14"

'Word Up' is a cover of Cameo's 1986 hit of the same name, which peaked at number three in the UK and six in the US.

The single will be released digitally on March 16, with a physical copy to be sold exclusively in Sainsbury's from March 17.

"We've all seen people push themselves and do incredible things for Sport Relief, so it's a dream come true to be releasing the official single this year," said Perrie Edwards. "We can't wait for you all to hear it!"

The former X Factor winners released their latest track 'Little Me' last month, the second cut to be lifted from their second album Salute.

This year's Sport Relief fundraiser will take place between March 21 and March 23. The event - which runs on alternate years to Comic Relief - raised over £50 million in 2012.

The Great Sport Relief Bake Off has aired every night this week, with 16 famous faces battling it out to impress Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry with their baking skills.
