5 Seconds of Summer, Lana Del Rey lead midweek chart update

5 Seconds of Summer are on course for their second number one single, while Lana Del Rey is topping the albums chart.

5 Seconds of Summer's 'Don't Stop' is going head to head with Ella Henderson's reigning number one single 'Ghost' for this Sunday.

The Aussie boyband are currently at number one, leading by 22,000 copies over Henderson. However, the former X Factor contestant's sales momentum picked up overnight, meaning it will be a close call on Sunday.

George Ezra is on course for his highest charting single to date, with 'Budapest' currently at number three, whereas Ed Sheeran has fallen two places to four with 'Sing'.

Gorgon City complete the top five with 'Here For You' ft Laura Welsh, with the single set to become their second top five hit following 'Ready For Your Love'.

Demi Lovato's 'Neon Lights' and Ed Sheeran's 'One' both mark new entries coming in at numbers 11 and 26 respectively.

'Around Town', the second single to be lifted from The Kooks' fourth album is currently at 32, while Birmingham band Peace are at 40 with 'Money'.

Over on the album chart, Lana Del Rey is primed for this week's number one, with her third album Ultraviolence having sold nearly 30,000 copies so far.

Del Rey claimed the top spot back in 2012 when Born To Die became one of the fastest-selling albums of the year.

Ultraviolence is 14,000 copies ahead of the current number two, Linkin Park's self-produced The Hunting Party.

Coldplay's Ghost Stories is down one place to number three followed by last week's number one Kasabian, whose fourth album 48:13 is currently at four, and Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour at five.

Deadmau5's seventh album while (1<2) is a new entry at number 13 along with Tiesto's A Town Called Paradise, currently at number 21.

Klaxons' Love Frequency enters the chart at number 25, while American country singer/songwriter Willie Nelson's Band Of Brothers is at 32.

Jennifer Lopez's new album AKA is currently at number 36.

Ed Sheeran is this week's highest climber with his debut album + jumping 40 places to number 10 ahead of the release of his new album x next week.

Del Rey's Born To Die climbs 27 places to number 28 while Passenger's All The Little Lights is up 22 places to 30, giving him his second entry on today's update, along with Whispers (nine).
