Akon has climbed up to the top of the Irish singles chart this week with Don't Matter.

Snow Patrol's Signal Fire rose eighteen places to number two, while Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend dropped down into third position. Rihanna and Jay-Z debuted in eighth place with Umbrella.

Linkin Park entered the album chart at number one with Minutes To Midnight, followed by Arctic Monkeys' Favourite Worst Nightmare in second position and Cascada's Everytime We Touch in third.
