Doherty disappoints waiting clubbers

Pete Doherty disappointed thousands of clubbers when he failed to show for a planned DJ set.

The Babyshambles star was due to play at the Gatecrasher Summer Sound System night in Leeds, for which fans had paid £40 per ticket, but did not show up.

Fortunately Preston, Celebrity Big Brother star and Ordinary Boys frontman, was on hand to step in and play the set.

However, one clubber, 24-year-old Kate Appleton, was not completely impressed. She explained: "I really came to see Pete play so I feel a bit conned. Preston was good though, he was on stage by himself getting really into the music."
