The Police have played their first full gig for 21 years as they begin their comeback tour with a performance in Vancouver.
Sting, guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland will go on to complete a world tour and have confirmed they will release a greatest hits record in June.
At the show on Monday they rolled out old classics including 'Message In A Bottle' and 'Don't Stand So Close To Me' for an audience of around 20,000.
Summers told BBC 6 Music he was enjoying it so far: "We're playing in these massive stadiums back to back, some nights for 70, 80,000 people.
"It does take a big machine to do that. The smallest, calmest part of it is the three guys in the band, and that was how it was in the old days. But weirdly, it feels like we're bigger than we were then!"
The band previously played one song to open the Grammy Awards in February.
