Liberty X not "cool" enough for pop
Published Saturday, Jun 2 2007, 14:44 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
Liberty X star Michelle Heaton has revealed that the group decided to split because their music was no longer "cool".
The band, formed by the losers of 2001 talent show Popstars, realised that their image was no longer suited to the current face of pop.
"There isn't a place for our music any more," Michelle told the Daily Star. "When we first started it was a proper pop era with Smash Hits. But pop's cool now, with people like Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse.
"Our fans are six years older and things change. There's no one reason and it's not down to any one person. It was definitely a group decision."
