Franz Ferdinand have resurfaced after a year away from performing - playing five new tracks at a small gig in Glasgow.
The band played at the Grand Ole Oprey Country And Western Club in their home town where 'New Thrill', 'Anyone In Love', 'An English Goodbye', 'Favourite Lie' and 'Turn It On' were all aired for the first time.
The new songs were said to be synth-driven and pop themed. The show, the first of two gigs at the club before shows in New York, was their first since Reading and Leeds festivals last year.
