McCartney to face album flop?
Published Wednesday, Jun 6 2007, 09:40 BST | By David Cribb
Paul McCartney's latest album is facing a sales flop because of a chart legality.
The singer's latest record, Memory Almost Full, has been released on a new label owned by Starbucks, with a vast number of albums being sold in the coffee shops.
However, none of the chain's outlets are registered with the Official Chart Company, and subsequently no records sold directly by the company will be added to the chart figures.
McCartney's record will, however, be sold on iTunes. It is the first of his albums to be made available on the format since the legal battle over the Apple logo.
