Sir Cliff Richard records are being employed at a fairground to get rid of anti-social youths.
Organisers of the Carters Steam Fair discovered the tactic at the weekend when 20 teenagers, inevitably wearing hoodies, started lurking around its rides in Hayes, Essex.
Seth Carter admitted the group were doing nothing wrong, so police could not help, but said they were putting off other customers.
"They weren't causing trouble as such, but they were worrying families and putting them off going on the rides," he said, explaining how he then tried sticking Richard classic 'The Young Ones' on the sound system.
"The gang had completely left the fair before the track was half over. They don't like that kind of music - it's not cool enough," he explained. "You don't really need Asbos when you've got Cliffbos."
Another member of staff at the fair added: "We just think other people should know about this. When you've got troublemakers, forget Asbos, play them Sir Cliff."
