The 'Supermassive Black Hole' stars were unimpressed that the former Wham! singer was chosen to play the first gig at the rebuilt north London venue on Saturday.
Drummer Dom Howard insisted that Muse's upcoming Wembley concert will be better, saying: "George Michael doing Wembley is a joke. Who cares? Our show is going to be massive. It's the pinnacle.
"I've been very cocky about it behind closed doors but I've been s**ting myself about it as well."
