Mel C: "Some truth" to Spice Girls reunion
Published Saturday, Jun 16 2007, 13:10 BST | By Neil Wilkes
Melanie C has admitted that the rumoured Spice Girls reunion is now likely to become a reality later this year.
The singer - also known as 'Sporty Spice' - has been the most resistant to the idea in the past, claiming that the girls could "never recreate" their '90s success.
Now she is on board for the project, which would reunite her with Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown for six live shows around the world this autumn. Geri Halliwell, who quit the band in 1998, would also be part of the lineup.
"For the first time ever, there is some truth in the rumours... it could happen," Mel C told BBC London 94.9, but warned that it would only be for "a very short space of time... a final goodbye".
She added: "This year people have been talking about it and some of the girls have expressed an interest in doing it. I don't want to be the person that stops it happening or stops it being a five-piece."
