Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell will make an announcement about their expected reunion tour on June 28.
A statement from Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment, the group's management company, said: "Following weeks of speculation, the Spice Girls are set to make an official announcement to the world regarding future plans on Thursday, June 28.
"No further information can be given at this time but given the band's unique history, you can be sure to expect the unexpected! Details regarding the announcement will be released in the coming days."
The Spice Girls formed in London in 1994. Their three studio albums - 1996's Spice, 1997's Spiceworld and 2000's Forever - achieved worldwide sales of over 35 million. The pop five-piece also scored nine UK number one singles before they announced that they were taking a break in 2001.
