Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley has revealed that the band nearly split in 2005.
The singer admitted that the group were drained after completing their Chuck tour and considered calling it a day.
"I thought the band was over. I thought that was it for me," Deryck explained. "I didn't feel there was much purpose any more. We are all really burnt out. We had no more goals. So I went home for six months. During that time I didn't really do anything.
"We then fired everyone who worked with us - everyone: manager, agent, the whole lot - and went to make a record."
