Keane star defends Live Earth

Keane star Tim Rice-Oxley has insisted that the Live Earth gigs will be effective in raising awareness of climate change.
The band's pianist has expressed his disappointment at the bad press that Al Gore's planned concerts have received in recent months, but he promised that the shows will have the desired effect.
"Live Earth is getting a lot of flak like all good events like this tend to," Tim told NME. "But you go to the middle of America and people are talking about it and hearing about it so it seems to be really doing the job that Al Gore wanted. We're really excited to be part of it as it's a really big show."
