The Killers enjoyed a 135 per cent sales boost after playing Glastonbury Festival, according to HMV figures.
The entertainment giant monitored the performance of albums by acts on the line-up and compared them to the equivalent period before the event.
Sales of Sam's Town, by The Killers, shot up by more than double while Editors' The Back Room rose 104 per cent, Kaiser Chiefs' Yours Truly, Angry Mob had a 102 per cent lift and Shirley Bassey's Greatest Hits rose by 79 per cent.
Gennaro Castaldo, from HMV, commented: "Glastonbury has gone from being a mere music festival to an iconic event.
"It can create massive profile for the participating artists - not just among the 180,000 fans who attend, but among the millions who now follow it on TV and radio and via the internet, while the press coverage keeps growing as well."
Iggy and The Stooges' The Weirdness rose 77 per cent. Others' records affected were: Arcade Fire by 74 per cent, Amy Winehouse by 66 per cent, CSS by 49 per cent, Arctic Monkeys by 36 per cent and Klaxons by 31 per cent.
New releases were not counted.
