Paolo Nutini has hit back at claims that the artists involved in Live Earth are "hypocritical".
The climate change concerts have been criticised by bands including the Arctic Monkeys and Muse, who claim that the events themselves could cause harm to the environment. However, Last Request singer Paolo has insisted that the comments are unfounded.
"Some people are being cynical for the sake of it," Nutini told the Daily Star. "Of course the carbon emission will be high after the gig but the pay-off is lots of individuals and companies will want to make a change as a result. That's what's important."
Paolo will perform at the Wembley Stadium gig at 3.50pm today.
