Tupac's mother in battle for material
Published Tuesday, Jul 24 2007, 11:57 BST | By Matthew Houghton
Tupac Shakur's mother has started a battle with a record company for the rights to her son's material.
Death Row Records is reportedly attempting to sell previously unreleased material as part of a bankruptcy settlement.
However, Afeni Shakur is seeking an injunction in a bankruptcy court claiming that the record company is illegally trying to sell the music that belongs to Tupac's estate.
Her argument is that the material should have been turned over to his estate after Tupac's death in 1996.
A court is expected to consider the request within the next month.
