Joni Mitchell has agreed to release her new album on the Hear Music record label, a company set up by Starbucks.
The 63-year-old Canadian has worked with the coffee house before, producing a compilation album of her favourite music, combined with some of her tracks chosen by celebrity fans such as Prince and Bob Dylan.
Mitchell's new CDShine is her first album since 1998, and she has called the work her most "serious" to date.
She is following in the footsteps of Paul McCartney, who is selling his latest album Memory Almost Full through Starbucks stores.
