Keith Richards is selling the publication rights to his life story - which could reportedly fetch £4.5 million.
Ed Victor is auctioning the English language rights in New York this week and offers are likely to approach £3.5 million.
And sources tell the Daily Mail translation rights could go for another £1 million.
Victor has said Richards will work with friend and non-fiction writer James Fox on the autobiography.
He has apparently insisted details will be clear despite the Rolling Stone's infamous drug use.
Three publishers are said to have been asked to bid and only two remain in the race.
