Halliwell shocked by support from fans
Geri Halliwell has admitted that the Spice Girls are overwhelmed by the huge demand for tickets to their concerts.

The singer had been hoping that all of the girls would agree to embark on a reunion tour for a number of years, but she never expected so much interest from fans; over 3 million people have now registered online for a chance to buy tickets.

"I always felt in my heart the reunion had to happen and it was the right thing to do," Geri told Reuters. "Having said that, we haven't been together for many years, and so when we put up the availability to register to come and buy tickets, you don't know, maybe two people want to come [to see us], maybe lots."

Asked to comment on the 3 million figure, Halliwell described it as: "Amazing and outrageous and beyond what we could have imagined. Of course that is, phew, it is very affirming and lovely to have that feedback."

"I feel very optimistic and positive," she added. "The point of this is to be a very fun experience and obviously the feedback that we have had is amazing and I think that the support and the encouragement from the world is almost like helping us to make this happen."
