Fans of the star - whose real name is Marshall Mathers III - were led to believe that he was working on his fifth album when website kingmathers.com launched and advertised an album of the same name.
However, in a statement, Eminem's publicist Dennis Dennehy has insisted that the site is "bogus" and rumours about the album are "not true".
He added: "There is no Eminem album on any release schedule."
