James Morrison has announced that he is taking time off so that he can start writing new songs.
The 'You Give Me Something' singer, who performed at the V Festival at the weekend, revealed that he is keen to start work on the follow-up to 2006's Undiscovered, which topped the UK album chart.
"I'm a perfectionist and I haven't got anything I have finished, so I can't wait to take a bit of time off so I can get back to writing," James told ITN at the festival yesterday.
Morrison added that he was thrilled by the positive reception he received during his recent tour of the US.
He said: "People have really been getting into it. It overwhelmed me how quickly the crowds took to it, so we will see how things go next year."
