Snow Patrol are being sued by former bassist Mark McClelland.
McClelland left the band in 2005 and is claiming a quarter of all their earnings since then.
The writ, lodged at the High Court, asks for proceeds from 2006 album Eyes Open and Snow Patrol's support slot with U2 on their Vertigo tour.
He left the group amid rumours of "creative differences" between he and frontman Gary Lightbody.
McClelland now plays in new act Little Doses.
