Arctic Monkeys support QOTSA in Texas
The Arctic Monkeys were called upon to play a surprise support slot gig for Josh Homme's Queens Of The Stone Age last night.

Homme's band were without usual support acts Howlin' Blue and Dax Riggs, so the Sheffield rockers offered to stand in for an hour-long set.

Speaking about the performance, frontman Alex Turner told NME: "I thoroughly enjoyed it! The Queens were amazing. It would be terrific to do a proper tour with them."

Talking about the late addition to the bill, Homme added: "Watching them play was my highlight of the whole night. They're a really great live band - they're like a tight little spring, you know?

"I didn't even get tipsy because I was too busy watching them play!"

Homme paid tribute to the 'Mardy Bum' group later in the night by altering the lyrics to 'Feel Good Hit Of The Summer' to incorporate lyrics from the Arctic Monkeys' number one single 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor'.
